Implications of King v. Burwell @ Classroom 341
Sep 10 @ 11:45 am – 1:00 pm

Two Perspectives on the Implications of King v. Burwell

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in King v. Burwell has been characterized as drawing “6 million  sighs of relief.” In the 6-3 decision by Chief Justice Roberts, the Court upheld the  Affordable Care Act’s subsidies to people who purchase health insurance in exchanges operated  by the federal government, rejecting plaintiffs’ arguments that the language in the ACA limited  subsidies to only people purchasing insurance on exchanges operated by the states. Our  panelists will discuss the ruling and its implications on the future of the ACA.
