Video transcript
Play videoLinda DiSantis: I think that Georgia State Law School provides a better real-life experience for students.
The opportunities provided through the centers and the externships and
the way the classes are structured and the experience of the faculty
gives students a perspective that when they come out of law school,
they are better prepared to meet the challenges of
being a brand new lawyer trying to practice law.
John T. Marshall: You get the feeling when you talk to a Georgia State graduate
that he or she thinks it is an noble profession.
Judge Dorothy Beasley: Many, many people have great faith that this would be a first-class law school from day one.
Justice Robert Benham: Georgia State has an opportunity to influence government, business, religion and civic affairs.
Judge Cynthia J. Becker: We are having an impact on the Atlanta legal community and the Atlanta community at large.
Beasley: It's right here where we are, whether we're practicing lawyers or judges.
DiSantis: Close to the state capitol, close to city hall, in the middle of the business sector.
I think it's a terrific advantage for the school.
Becker: So, the Georgia State student really has an edge, I think.
Marshall: There's an excitement about the way they want to practice law.
Benham: The professors come with a greater dedication to addressing some of the needs of society.
DiSantis: They're just terrific people who care a lot about the school, about the students,
about the community, and about the graduates.
Becker: The alumni are excited and engaged because
we're part of a dynamic, progressive law school, and we're proud of it.
Beasley: I think Dean Kaminshine is on the cusp of taking the law school to a new level.
Benham: It's perceived as an up-and-coming law school.
Becker: And I can say with confidence my colleagues look upon Georgia State as "one of the ones."
Marshall: Georgia State doesn't have to take a back seat to anybody
when it comes to its College of Law.
DiSantis: It's just a terrific law school with a terrific reputation.
Becker: The next 25 years, I can't even imagine where they'll be.
I do know absolutely in my heart that it will be a success.
DiSantis: If I was going to shout it from the mountaintops,
it would be "this is a terrific place to get a legal education."
Beasley: Y'all come!
It's a good place to be.
