Class of 2008 Gift Campaign

Dear Classmates,

It is hard to believe but in three months, we will become the 25th graduating class of Georgia State University College of Law. Upon graduation, we will join over 3,600 Georgia State law graduates who have built successful careers, who attribute their success in large part to the great legal education they received at the College of Law, and who have been generous in their financial support of the college. This financial support enables the College to grow and expand the reputation and value of a GSU law degree. We are asking you to begin your support for the College of Law by participating in the Class of 2008 Class Gift Campaign.

In contrast to recent class gifts which have focused on one-time law school needs, this year's class gift will launch an enduring legacy that will support students who follow in our footsteps. The plan is to create an ongoing Class Gift Campaign Scholarship Fund as the vehicle for this year's class gift campaign and campaigns in the years ahead. The funds we raise will provide both immediate financial support to a deserving student from the following year's entering class while also retaining a portion of the gift to build the fund as an endowment that, with the support of future class gift campaigns, will grow over time to support multiple students per year.

Our goal is to raise at least $6,000 and importantly, to collect 100% participation from our class, with the intention of besting the Class Gift Campaigns of 2005 (42%), 2006 (58%), and 2007 (42%). Remember, every contribution, regardless of size, will be accepted and very much appreciated.

If you contribute to this campaign, you will receive:

Recognition in the official Hooding Ceremony printed program (if the gift is received by the MAY 1^st deadline).
Recognition in the college's annual fund report with all fellow law graduates who contribute annually.
Recognition on the “Class of 2008” plaque (for gifts of $50 or more).
The satisfaction of helping to provide an affordable legal education to a future alum, colleague, or friend.
