Course Description

Legal Bibliography. Instruction in effective legal research skills through lecture and research exercises including the use of library materials, computerized legal research systems, LEXIS and WESTLAW.

Syllabus

Class Schedule: Fridays 10:30 to 11:20 AM

Grading Policy: Student must satisfactorily complete all legal bibliography assignments, training, and tours to receive a passing grade in this class. The final exam makes up 100% of a student's final grade.

Assignment Policy: Research Exercises can be completed individually or in groups of no more than two mutually consenting students. Each group should turn in one assignment that identifies both parties. All assignments are due before the beginning of the class.

Attendance Policy: Class attendance is mandatory. More than one absence makes you ineligible to sit for the final. You must sign-in to receive credit for attending each week. It is your responsibility to make sure that you sign in. Signing in is the only proof that you attended class.

Please contact me during the first few weeks of the semester to let me know if you will not attend a particular class in observance of religious holidays.

Open Door Policy: My office is located in the Law Library across form the computer lab in room 112A. I encourage students to stop by my office to ask questions about topics covered in class or in the assignments. In my absence, feel free to consult with other librarians at the Law Library. You have also been assigned a personal librarian. I encourage you to reach out to him or her in my absence.

Honor Code: Your conduct in this class shall be governed according to the GSU College of Law Honor Code and the University Code of Conduct. Any alleged violation of these Codes will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
