Course Description

Legal Bibliography. Instruction in effective legal research skills through lecture and research exercises including the use of library materials, computerized legal research systems, LEXIS and WESTLAW.

  1. Register your Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law accounts.
  2. Register for our TWEN page on Westlaw (make sure you select the right Legal Bib section from the list).
  3. Read Chapter 1 (all) and Chapter 2 (pp. 23 – 35 only) in Federal Legal Research. Be prepared to discuss it in class.
  4. Bring one 3x5 index card to our first class session.
