Course Description

Trademarks and Unfair Competition. Analysis of common law and federal trademark law, including the acquisition, maintenance, and enforcement of rights, as well as the remedies available for infringement. Unfair competition law doctrines such as "passing off" and "false designation of origin" will also be covered. The course will also include recent developments in false advertising and an overview of the right of publicity, including the use of "sound-a-likes" and "look-a-likes."
