Course Description

Bioethics and the Law. This course exaimes contemporary interdisciplinary issues that arise at the intersection of law, medicine, and ethics. Its primary focus is on life and death. It provides an introduction to bioethics and addresses medical, legal, ethical, and policy isssues in genetics and biotechnology, human subjects research; human reproduction and decision making at the beginning of the life; dying and decision making at the end of life; and rationing health care. Interdisciplinary readings will draw from the legal medical and ethics literature.
