Course Description

Capital Defenders Clinic. A three-hour clinical course taught in partnership with Georgia Capital Defenders, a new state agency responsible for representing all indigent defendants statewide in capital cases at trial and on direct appeal. Students will assist in the representation of clients of Capital Defenders and will work on all aspects of the representation, including fact investigation, witness interviewing, legal research and drafting, and generally assisting in preparing cases for trial and sentencing hearings. Students will be supervised by the professor and attorneys in the office. Grading is on a pass/fail basis. Permission of the professor is required.
