Course Description

Insurance Law. From a perspective of the history and development of the principles governing insurance contracts and the state regulation of the business of insurance, this course will consider the issues associated with the fundamental principles of insurance law, insurable interest, formation and structure of insurance policies, insurance contract interpretation, insurance agency, duties of insurers and policyholders, an analysis of policies and related issues arising from property insurance, liability insurance, automobile insurance, life insurance and disability insurance and a study of the principles of insurance bad faith.
