An attorney admitted to practice in Georgia or another state may apply for admission as special student, but in that capacity may only audit courses at the college.
Graduate students who wish to take an advanced course in the College of Law in support of their academic program in another college at Georgia State University, and graduate students at other accredited institutions or those equivalent to the same at foreign institutions, may apply for admission as special students.

There are two special student statuses: Graduate Level and Active Attorney.
Graduate students who wish to take an advanced course in the College of Law in support of their academic program in another college at GSU, and graduate students at other accredited institutions, may apply for admission as special students. Course credits earned while enrolled with a special student status will not count toward a JD degree if student subsequently enrolls in the JD program.
Requirements for Graduate Level
Online Application
Complete the online application and submit it along with your $50 nonrefundable application fee, paid by debit card, credit card or online check through LSAC.
Personal Statement
Attach a typed personal statement electronically to your online admissions file to indicate your purpose for taking specific law courses and add anything you wish to say about yourself and your abilities, interests or personal history. The personal statement should be no more than two pages double spaced.
Letter of Permission
This letter from your graduate advisor must give permission and conditions for your attendance and agree to accept transfer credit from the GSU College of Law.
Official Graduate Transcript
An official transcript of your graduate work must be sent via postal services directly to the College of Law. Transcripts that are hand delivered, photocopied, e-mailed or faxed will not be accepted.
Faculty Approval
Applicant must receive written permission from the College of Law faculty member(s) teaching the course(s) sought.

You must provide a copy of your active bar membership card.
Faculty Approval
Applicant must receive written permission from the College of Law faculty member(s) teaching the course(s) sought.
