The Graduate Leadership Council (G.L.C.), the governing body of the Law Graduates Association, is seeking nominations for the 2006 Service to the College of Law Award. This service award will be presented during the alumni breakfast at the State Bar of Georgia Midyear Meeting scheduled for January 2006. Every year, the G.L.C. presents this award to one law graduate who demonstrates exemplary dedication and service to the College of Law. Past recipients of this award include Peggy Brockington ('86), Marlo Orlin Leach ('94), Cathy Henson ('89), Judge Peggy Harris Walker ('86) and Patricia Tate ('85). Their contributions range from actively participating on the G.L.C., regularly volunteering for law school events, serving as adjunct professors at the law school and enthusiastically assisting with fund-raising efforts. One of our past award recipients pledged to match every graduate contribution up to $50,000. Presenting this award is the council's way of recognizing extraordinary individuals who set the standard for the type of service and dedication to the College of Law that all graduates can aspire to achieve. Take a moment to read over the criteria below, and then nominate someone who deserves this honor. AWARD CRITERIA The award is given to a graduate who has made outstanding contributions of time and/or resources to the College of Law. The recipient should demonstrate a continuing commitment to the successful growth and development of the College. AWARD ELIGIBILITY The recipient must be a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law. NOMINATION PROCESS Anyone (graduate, faculty, student or other) may submit a nomination. A selection committee made up of several graduates, one law professor and a member of the Board of Visitors will review all nominations in November.
