A thought-provoking Intellectual Property Hot Topics panel discussion on Copyright Law and Media Distribution on the Internet was held April 13 for College of Law students, faculty members and others interested in the field of IP law from the Atlanta legal community.
Sponsored by the COL, the Intellectual Property Law Society and the College of Law Intellectual Property Founders, the event was moderated by Daniel Sieberg, Technology Correspondent and host of Next@CNN on CNN.
Members of the IP panel on hand for the discussion included Professor Michael Landau, Director of the Intellectual Property Law Program at Georgia State’s College of Law; Doug Isenberg, Attorney at Law, founder of GigaLaw.com and COL adjunct professor; Shachar Oren, founder and CEO of Neurotic Media, Inc.; and Les Seagraves, Chief Privacy Officer and Assistant General Counsel for EarthLink, Inc.
Topics discussed ranged from issues involving music and video downloading and file sharing, and the role of Internet service providers in the process, as well as basic principles of copyright.
Local attorneys who attended the event were able to take advantage of the IP Hot Topics panel for Georgia Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.
