Scholarship Available from Air & Waste Management Association Georgia Chapter

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization that provides training, information, and networking opportunities to 9,000 environmental professionals in 65 countries. The Association’s goals are to strengthen the environmental profession, expand scientific and technological responses to environmental concerns, and assist professionals in critical environmental decision making to benefit society.  The A&WMA–Georgia Chapter is composed of environmental professionals throughout the state.

The Georgia Chapter will award two $1,500 graduate student scholarships at the Brown Bag Seminar, on September 15, 2017, at the law offices of Bryan Cave LLP, One Atlantic Center, Fourteenth Floor, 1201 W. Peachtree St., N.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30309.  Scholarships are awarded to graduate students conducting research on topics related to air quality, waste management, pollution prevention, environmental policy/compliance/law, sustainability, or a related topic.  The scholarship recipients will also be awarded a complementary one-year student membership to the national A&WMA.

Interested graduate students must submit a brief abstract describing their research no later than Friday, September 1, 2017.  Download abstract submittal form here. The recipients will be recognized at the Brown Bag Seminar and will have an opportunity to make a brief presentation describing their research.  The scholarships will be awarded in a lump sum to the recipients.
