It affects us all.
No matter your status in life, the law affects you. Last year the United States Supreme Court ruled on important issues like affirmative action, marriage equality, and voting rights. Just last week, we saw the Justices strike down overall political donations caps—a move that enhances our speech and First Amendment rights or wrongly increases wealthy donors’ roles in democratic elections, depending on which side of the argument your beliefs fall.
Whether you’re an advocate for change or fighting to preserve the status quo, one must keep up with the law. Its ever-changing nature places us all on our toes.
